*special announcementS*

  • Change in time for summer meetings.  Please note that the summer meetings will now start at 8:00 pm (vice 8:30 pm).
  • June meeting.  The June meeting is taking place this coming Thursday, June 9, starting at 8:00 pm.
  • Change in liability coverage.  In an effort to further protect club members and the Club from liability, during the December 2010 meeting the Club voted on, and approved, that all boat owners add the two (2) land trusts as their additional insured’s.  This change is of no additional increase to the member’s insurance premium.  The two trusts are:

John Karnes Trust                    Group II Trust

1780 NW 94 Ave.                    1580 NW 94 Ave.

Doral, FL 33172                       Doral, FL 33172

Boat owners need to contact their insurance company and request for these changes to be made by no later than their corresponding premium renewal.  Please contact Nancy Luzoro at luzoro@bellsouth.net if you have any questions.

    • Henrik thanked everyone who contributed to Kids Day.  Everyone had a wonderful time.
  • Safety Tip:
    • Thank you George for checking and certifying the fire extinguishers.
    • The water level is very low, be cautious when backing in boat trailers.
    • All guests must sign the release form as soon as they arrive at our site; it must be signed whether they ski or not.
    • Pick up floating debris and check out the course for debris prior to skiing.
    • Children should always wear a flotation vest.
    • We recommend wearing a life jacket when you are trick skiing.
    • Longer shock tubes work better than the short ones.
    • Please abide by the no-wake restriction buoy on the south end of the main canal and be courteous to fellow skiers and boaters.  If heading south, one needs to idle until past the no wake buoy.  If heading north, one should be in and out of gear before and after this buoy in order to prevent rollers into the main canal.
    • Remember to use the prescribed patterns for boat driving around our lake.
    • Do not cut corners while navigating about the lake, this is a safety hazard.
    • Always turn the boat engine OFF when the driver is getting out of their seat.
    • Sitting on the gunnels or transom of the boat is dangerous and is also a serious safety violation.  Paula reported that a friend of Merritt lost his hand while sitting on the gunnels.
